Our commitment to learning
Along with our research partners, we were the only Centre of Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) awarded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England for the discipline of computing science. The CETL legacy has improved the employability of our graduates through curriculum innovations in group and project work, including a state-of-art learning laboratory containing facilities for video conferencing.
Continually investing in your future
As well as more than 1,300 PCs throughout the University, the School of Computing Science has over 300 dedicated PCs running Windows and Linux to provide its own undergraduate and postgraduate students with unparalleled learning resources.
World-class research facilities
Many student projects take place within our internationally-recognised research groups. This involves the use of cutting-edge research facilities such as the Virtual Reality suite and interaction technologies found in the Open Lab (Floor 3, 89 Sandyford Road) – the University’s centre for digital practice.
