Understand, design and develop analytical algorithms and models. Plan experiments for the validation of model predictions. Shape the overall approach and mentor others. Build data visualizations to communicate the model outputs to other team members and clients.
Masters or PhD in a physical science subject or applied statistics.
Excellent understanding of the data management lifecycle, including collection and sampling issues.
Experience with the design and implementation of statistical models and algorithms.
Hands-on programming experience in Python and/or R.
Good SQL skills.
Experience visualising data results using Shiny or other tools.
The ability to present results to a non-expert audience.
The ability to work effectively with people from a variety of background.
Ability to plan, break down and manage analytical piece of work.
Desirable skill but not mandatory:
Experience with noSQL (especially graph) databases and Hadoop-based tools.
Experience with machine learning.
Experience building semantic or sentiment analysis.
Awareness of Agile (iterative) development approach.
